From the last April we continue lectures on the Gospel of Matthew in line with the Bible education program. Ahead of every Sunday worship, we organizes bible study classes in which each believer reads the same passage to discuss themes of the week. The reading passage of the last session was the chapter 26 of Matthew, which should be the highlight of the Gospel. (³¤­…)

1. Discussion about the Resurrection

Today we read Matthew 22:23-33, the passage which concerns the resurrection. The contents lead us to reflect on weather we could expect a new life after death on the earth. “Life after death” is one of eternal questions throughout the human history. And, so far, nobody could give any convincing answer. Death remains still completely mysterious. We will see today what and how the Bible tells us about it. (³¤­…)

1. Do not worry about your life

Today’s lecturing part is titled, “Do not worry.” Jesus’ message in it is that we don’t need to be anxious about the future because God gives what is necessary for our life. (³¤­…)

1. To pay or not to pay the temple tax

We are reading the Gospels according to the Bible education program and todays’ lecturing part is Matthew 17:24-27. The passage concerns the temple tax, a very rare theme for lesson. Indeed, it is my first time in those 10 years of the service. I wish that we can find there many important points together (³¤­…)

1. The Parables of the Mustard Seed and the Yeast

We are reading the Gospels by following the Bible education program and today’s lecturing portion is the parable of the kingdom of heaven by Matthew. The concerning passage is in chapter 13 which contains two groups of parables. The first one is about the weeds and today we reflect on the second. Tough both of two groups focus on the kingdom of heaven, Jesus took in the latter the seed as a metaphor of a stimulus to establishment of the Kingdom of heaven. Matthew reported, ; - He (Jesus) told them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches."(Matthew 13:31-32) (³¤­…)
